The KongoNola Project
Presented by Goussy Célestin’s Ayiti Brass
Ayiti Brass is known for its fusion of Haitian tradition and New Orleans-style brass band energy. Created by Haitian-American pianist, composer, and arranger Goussy Célestin, the group blends the rhythms of Haitian Rara with jazz instrumentation and street-band swagger. Their music draws a powerful connection between Haiti and New Orleans, two places linked by deep cultural roots and shared history.
The ensemble features a rotating lineup of top-tier musicians who bring their own flavor to each performance. With indigenous wind instruments, brass, and a driving rhythm section, Ayiti Brass creates an irresistible sound that invites audiences to dance and celebrate. Their debut album, Anba Dio: Beneath the Waters, is currently in the works and set for release in 2026.
