This June, the sound of Tin Pan Alley returns to NoMad with a free outdoor concert celebrating the songs that helped shape American music.
Presented by the NoMad Jazz Festival in partnership with Make Music New York, the Tin Pan Alley American Popular Music Project brings vocalist and songwriter Gabrielle Stravelli to the public plaza at the Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad on Sunday, June 21 at 12 p.m.
The program honors Tin Pan Alley and the Great American Songbook, two cornerstones of American popular music that continue to influence jazz, theater, and contemporary songwriting. Audiences can expect familiar melodies and the kind of musical storytelling that still resonates today.
Stravelli has earned praise for her expressive vocals and sophisticated approach. The New York Times noted that her “emotional intelligence coincides with a phenomenal voice that she wielded with an easygoing confidence and impeccable taste.”
