Founded by Ryan Easter in 2014, The Trap Music Orchestra brings together the musical lineage of the Black diaspora through the modern language of trap music, presented in the orchestral tradition made legendary by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Charles Mingus. Drawing inspiration from disco, Panamanian folk music, Debussy, Earth, Wind & Fire, and beyond, the ensemble reveals the rich web of influences that connects generations, genres, and cultures.
