Eric Kalb hits with purpose and groove. A Brooklyn-based drummer, he blends rhythm and blues feel with flashes of rock energy. Jazz Times praised his style as energetic and exhilarating, and bandleaders keep calling. He has worked with Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Charlie Hunter, John Scofield, and Dr. Lonnie Smith. His playing appears on film soundtracks including American Gangster. He studied at Berklee and cut his teeth on stages across the country, including a large-scale performance of Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On at the Kennedy Center. Kalb drives the band with power, taste, and a deep pocket.
